1954 silvertone ribbed leaves with curled ends link collar necklace with hook clasp. Marked "NAPIER PAT. PEND." on the back of the leaf's stem near the clasp. Measures: 6 1/2 inches long by 5 7/8 inches wide. The largest interior circumference at the largest setting is about 17 1/8 inches. Condition: Very good; tarnish normal for its age and material. This necklace was featured in a 1954 advertisement and is shown on pg. 267 of Melinda L. Lewis & Henry Swen's book, "The Napier Co.: Defining 20th Century American Costume Jewelry." The original retail price was $22.50 which is equivalent to about $273 today. The matching clip earrings are also available for purchase.
