1980s Modernist rhodium plated black enamel bib with two upside-down v shapes of round clear rhinestones down the front with fabric on the sides and a round hook clasp with black enamel and another line of clear rhinestones forming an upside-down v necklace. Marked "Alexis Kirk©" in script on the back of the bib section. Measures: 7 inches long by 5 1/4 inches wide.  Interior circumference is about 14 1/2 inches. Condition: Very good; light wear noticeable only upon close inspection. The matching clip earrings and brooch are also available for purchase.

 

Alexis Kirk was an American jewelry and fashion designer. He studied art at Harvard and the Rhode Island School of design. His first jewelry collection in 1970 won him a Coty’s American Fashion Critics award. His jewelry was inspired by cultures from around the world and incorporated unusual materials usually on a larger scale. He also won a Dallas fashion award in 1988. Some of his clients included Cher, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Nancy Reagan, Barbara Bush and the Duchess of Windsor.
